World Vision has been facilitating child sponsorship for more than 50 years. Our Response has partnered with WV to increase the sponsorships in Kivuruga, Rwanda. Children to be sponsored are carefully selected by World Vision staff with a portion of the funding directed to the specific child and the remainder allocated to the community. The standard sponsorship of $35 a month for a HopeChild provides many things such as clean water, nutritious food, health care (including AIDS Prevention), care for sick or dying parents, educational opportunities, spiritual nurture, and HIV/AIDS Counseling.
